The exception is the "Media Cover Image Archive," which may be used for commercial uses when promoting our books on approved websites. PRIVACY POLICY

The Mountaineers Books is dedicated to protecting your privacy as you use our web site. We do not and will not sell the names, contact information or purchasing data of our customers.

If during your visit to our site you only browse, read pages or download material, we cannot collect any information that will identify you personally, or determine your email address. Our web server automatically recognizes the domain name and Internet Protocol (IP) address of each visitor to our site. An IP address is a code that identifies a particular computer on the Internet. Every computer or network that's connected to the Internet has an IP address.

We do collect site-usage information to help us improve the site for our visitors.

We provide forms and links in places throughout the site for you to send comments and ideas, to ask for more information and to report problems you may experience on our site. Even if you email us through one of our response forms on the site, we cannot determine your email address unless you include it in your response. HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY ORDER? CLOSE WINDOW

The Mountaineers Books accepts the credit cards VISA and Mastercard. We also accept personal checks and money orders for mail-orders. Payments must be made in US dollars.

WHAT ABOUT SALES TAX? CLOSE WINDOW

Sales tax is added only to orders delivered within Washington state. The current sales tax rate of 8.8% will be displayed in your final shopping order at check-out, along with applicable shipping charges.

HOW DO I ORDER FROM CANADA OR INTERNATIONALLY?CLOSE WINDOW

Canadian and international orders may be subject to duties, taxes and customs, and are the responsibility of the customer.

HOW FAST WILL I GET MY ORDER? CLOSE WINDOW

All orders are processed Monday through Friday (9 a.m. - 5 p.m. PST), and are shipped within 48 hours. See shipping information for delivery options and associated costs.

HOW DO I GET MY BOOK IF IT IS OUT-OF-STOCK OR OUT-OF-PRINT? CLOSE WINDOW

Even though we make every attempt to have plenty of stock on hand for our customers, we do fall short sometimes. If a title is out-of-stock on our web site you can either, 1) visit your local bookstore, or 2) call Customer Service to ask for an estimated time of availability on the title, or 3) accept it as a back-order. If the particular title is out-of-print, we will provide you with an estimated time of re-print, if available, after your order has been processed and you receive confirmation via email. We make an effort to alert our customers prior to ordering about the status of our titles on the website. 

HOW DO I RETURN OR EXCHANGE A BOOK I HAVE PURCHASED? CLOSE WINDOW

Returns on books, calenders, maps, and other products are accepted, if they are in original condition, as an exchange or a credit for another purchase later. Please call Customer Service prior to exchanging a product. Call 1-206-223-6303 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PST, Monday through Friday for service. The customer will pay the difference in cost increases, if applicable, when exchanging for another title of greater value. When sending the package, include a copy of the receipt that was sent to you by email, or the receipt included in the package you received—this will expedite the return/exchange process.

HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER? CLOSE WINDOW

Shopping with The Mountaineers Books is an easy and safe process, using a secure server to protect your credit card information.
1. Search our database for the title, author, category, series, or keywords that interest you.
2. Click the Buy Now button to add the specified quantity to your shopping basket.
3. Register with our website as a user, or sign-in when asked to do so (if you have an account with us).
4. Add any required addresses, such as shipping, billing, third-party shipping addresses, etc. Our shopping system can handle as many addresses as you want.
5. Confirm shipping and billing information and click to payment information
6. Fill in credit card information and click to Checkout. Your order will be confirmed by email. You can also place an order by phone or fax.

HOW DO I ACCESS PAST ORDER INFORMATION, OR MAKE CHANGES TO MY PROFILE? CLOSE WINDOW

To access your past orders, click on My Orders under Shopping Services of the homepage, and sign-in using your username and password. You will see a listing of your past orders, which you can click on for item details.

To access your profile, click on My Account under Shopping Services of the homepage, and sign-in using your username and password. You can then edit and update the information, including changing your password, username, phone number, email address, membership, and type of user.

IS THE MOUNTAINEERS BOOKS WEB SITE SECURE? CLOSE WINDOW

Credit card orders are secured through the industry standard 128bit SSL (Secure Socket Layers) server, which encrypts the information being passed through the Internet. This information is then stored for the duration of the purchase, until the order is cleared by shipping. To make sure your transaction is secure, check the lower right-side of your browser window, and find the padlock icon closed. This indicates a secure connection. You will also find in the URL browser line, where it would normally begin with 'http:', it now begins with 'https'. This also states that the browser is in a secure environment. We will never sell your personal information. We do add your name and address to our consumer catalog mailing list. For further security information, you can email our Webmaster.

Mountaineers Mail is an e-newsletter written for friends of The Mountaineers Books. The newsletter includes announcements of new titles, special sales, book excerpts and other information of interest to outdoor enthusiasts and book lovers. Emailed periodically throughout the year, Mountaineers Mail is a free opt-in newsletter. Subscribers may easily discontinue receiving it at any time. Subscriber email addresses will not be shared, loaned or sold to any other entity.
