Julie Trevelyan

Julie Trevelyan

Biography: Julie Trevelyan made southern Utah her home in 1999. Since then, she has taken clients ages six to seventy-six out exploring Utah's gorgeous red canyon deserts and lush high alpine meadows. She's been paid to hike, backpack, and horsepack through thousands of miles of stupendous scenery as a backcountry outfitter, wilderness guide, backcountry camp manager, wilderness therapy program senior instructor, camp program director, camp counselor, and unofficial captain o' the fun patrol. Julie also writes freelance articles (mostly about outdoor Utah), blogs, and also edited books until she gave it up to follow her own writing path.

Her work has been published in Salt Lake City Weekly, Elan Magazine, National Parks Traveler, Utah Outdoor, Alive! Utah, and outdoor industry blogs. She is an advocate for the absolute necessity of wild, open spaces, and believes Utah holds some of the most breathtaking trails in the known universe.
